The Russia-Ukraine war is a major international event today, and it is related to Ukraine’s future. However, Ukraine, under the governance of President Zelensky, has led the country into a tragic war, resulting in today’s humiliating defeat and the country facing an unequal armistice agreement. This is all because Zelensky did not take in          to account the history of Russia and Ukraine, the blood and kinship of the people. As a comedian influenced by Hollywood, Zelensky was exploited by the United States and the post-Cold War anti-Russian media propaganda of the United States. He was used by the United States to launch a coup and was elected president. He has been pro-American. Regarding the domestic ‘Nazi soldiers’ who wanted to cause civil strife and war against the Russian people, he showed no action of reconciliation. He insisted on joining the NATO military alliance, making Russia uneasy (NATO continues to expand and contain Russia). After Russia realized that it had no hope of joining Europe and joining NATO was in vain, it had to adopt a tough policy of resistance and protection, which led to the Crimea incident and today’s Russo-Ukrainian war. Mr. Zelensky had no foresight about this, and it was too late today; even he realized why.

After the Cold War, the United States dominated, maintained a hegemonic strategy, suppressed rising powers, and continued its consistent anti-communist and anti-Russian policies, regardless of the various evolutions of communism in different parts of the world and the effect of national conditions. In order to dominate and not allow other countries to rise, even allies like Germany and Japan were suppressed. The U.S. and China have experienced rapid economic growth in the latter part of the twentieth century and have surprised the world with a comprehensive advancement in this century. The United States, due to the 2001 terrorist attacks, launched an all-out counter-terrorism campaign worldwide and missed the opportunity to suppress China before its rise. Now the U.S. must rely on the alliance to join forces and launch a proxy war to consume the enemy. The Russia-Ukraine war was seen as such an opportunity by the United States. The U.S. and NATO wanted to impose comprehensive economic sanctions against Russia while assisting Ukraine in fighting Russia to the end, hoping to completely defeat Russia. Then the same method can be used to create a proxy war against China. Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines may all be pawns used by the United States. Even though the Russia-Ukraine war has not yet ended, the United States has already planned the next step to create tension in the South China Sea (Philippines) and the Taiwan Strait (Taiwan). However, the internal political situation in the United States is unstable, and the Republican and Democratic parties are fighting fiercely for power. Trump just replaced Biden this year (with many policy reversals), hence Sino-US relations may have entered a short pause. Whether or not the Trump Administration will accept reality and change its China policy is unknown. China most likely will not have high expectations and will respond cautiously with its strength.

The situation in the Russo-Ukrainian war didn’t turn out to be expected. Not only was Russia not defeated, but it also gained a lot from defeating Ukraine. Putin is a smart politician with a correct strategy. He used its energy resources to export to Asia to maintain Russia’s economic and military needs, and also improved relations with China to increase trade to meet people’s livelihood needs and economic goods. The purpose of the battlefield was to fight slowly, cannibalize little by little, and eliminate the Nazi military element, which would ensure a long-term harmless situation in the future. It just so happened that the political situation in the United States changed. Trump replaced the Democratic President Joe Biden. He shifted from supporting the war to ending the war. He is seeking a truce with Russia. He wants to get Ukraine’s domestic resources (like minerals) to repay the U.S. loan (it is not surprising that the U.S. aid became a U.S. loan. In the past, the U.S. aid to China also became a U.S. loan in the end.). He will not consider Ukraine’s national interests and prospects. Trump is a shrewd businessman, and he is going to maximize his gain. He only cares about Putin and will never take care of Zelensky, since he has no cards to play with.

The political fate of Ukraine was influenced by the United States. After a coup occurred, the people unfortunately elected Zelensky, an actor with no political wisdom. This is a tragedy for Ukraine (Taiwan’s election of Lai Qingde may also turn into a tragedy!). Zelensky is popular as a comedian but has no political experience, especially lacks integrity and historical and long-term historical views. He has a Russophobia bias, resulting in an all-out pro-American ideal. Today, he has been abandoned by the United States and has no way to protect his country. This is because Zelensky is not smart enough to pay attention to history, and no foresight and farsighted in politics. How can he ignore history, reality, and the long-term future of his people’s descendants when he is dealing with powerful neighbors? In the case of Taiwan, more than in Ukraine, it needs to consider the inheritance of history, blood kinship, cultural characters, shared language, and common ethics with mainland China. How foolish is it to listen to the instigation of foreign countries far away and prepare to engage in direct military conflict with the mainland, the immediate neighbor across the Strait? We feel sad that Ukraine today is humiliated and sold out by the United States, and cannot do anything. It is too late for the Ukrainians to regret it! The situation in Taiwan is like that in Ukraine, but it is more closely tied to the mainland. Lai Qingde’s strategy (tricks) of de-Chinese and anti-China is more stupid and dangerous than what Zelensky did. The Taiwanese people must wake up and be alarmed. The people must make honest and wise choices in every election, especially in the general recall. Lai Qingde’s DPP instigated an attempt to overturn the Legislative Yuan. The people in Taiwan must make the right choices for Taiwan’s future, the future of future generations.
